Anonymous asked: What is a good pedalboard setup for like indie garage/surf rock?
noisemeditation asked: hey, great blog!
i was wondering: i have a boss ds-1, and aside from the keely mod, are there any other (relatively cheap) distortion pedals that would bring me closer to a really tight distorted sound? i was thinking maybe a compresser, but what about another pedal? or should i just scrap the ds-1 and get a better distortion pedal?
thanks!

handsome-sam asked: do either of you have any experience with or thoughts on the EHX octave multiplexer?
I’d just like to take a quick second to say the following: everything we do here is all in good fun. Bobby and I take the site seriously but when it comes down to it, we’re just like you, GEARWHORES. We don’t put ourselves above anyone or anything like that & we’re really glad many of you have come out and share your awesome rigs with us. With that being said, ...
onewonderingsoul asked: That was a pretty shallow answer. Maybe this will help the asker a bit: the AC15's lower wattage will allow it to break up a lot sooner than an AC30. You can push the AC30 a lot harder without it breaking up, retaining a clean tone at higher volumes.
Sorry, I was just thinking maybe that's what they were asking.

Anonymous asked: Im planning on buying a new amp, looking for a bright nice tone and a "jazzy" guitar sound. im thinking on AC30 custom classic, but whats the difference between the 30 and the 15?
petkinsella asked: I'm pretty new to pedalboards and such kinds of gear.
However, I've been a little curios about this:
Can pedalboards be used for microphones as well?

the-worlds-forgotten-boy-deacti asked: So, I've got a Analogman Chorus with a 3 way depth switch and I love it but yesterday I have the chance to get a 1983 Boss CE-2 in perfect like new condition for $20. It is almost exactly the same sounding as the bright mode of the Analogman but I'm trying to decide if the other 2 modes of the Analogman are worth keeping a $270 chorus pedal or if I should keep it and just sell the CE-2...
Anonymous asked: i play stoner rock/metal type stuff and looking for a phase shifter. small stone or phase 90? and what do you think of the small stone in the nano chassis? is there any difference in the circuit?
johnmattr asked: I went through a long period of coveting a Moogerfooger ring mod, but had gotten over it a year or two ago. I've seen a few bands make interesting use of them recently, and the lust is back. I don't have $300 to drop right now unfortunately. Do you guys know of any cheaper ring mods that are still worthwhile?

Anonymous asked: Whats the correct order or how should i start experimenting with the pedal chain order?
Anonymous asked: Hey guys! I recently got a Bass Big Muff and I really enjoy it. My only gripe with it is that it can sound fairly... sloppy, I guess is the best word to describe it. I was wondering if there was any way I could tighten up the sound a bit. I'm considering getting a Tube Screamer and seeing how that works, but I'd like to hear your suggestions.
Thanks!
